Hicksville Chamber of Commerce 2023 Scott R. Schneider
Scott R. Schneider graduated in 1990 from St Johns Law School and 10 years later in January of 2000 he opened his own law office in Hicksville. His practice focuses primarily on bankruptcy law and foreclosure defense. He helps clients get out from underneath their debts, better manage their finances, and save their homes from foreclosure. He has helped many individuals get a fresh start in life and has protected hundreds of families from losing their homes.
Over the years he has worked with the Nassau/Suffolk Law Services' Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP). He has received the honor of the Pro Bono Attorney of the month several times during his 33 years in practice and was most recently honored by the Nassau County Bar Association which presented him the prestigious Thomas Maligno Pro Bono attorney of the Year for his incredible determination and dedication in assisting clients with their bankruptcy cases and as an attorney who has an incredible passion and dedication to help his community.
In addition to providing pro bono legal services, Mr. Schneider is no stranger to volunteering. He coached soccer for 16 seasons, was an Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America, was the Vice- President along with his wife for the Parents Club at Chaminade High School. He also helps his community by volunteering his time as the treasurer for Hicksville Gregory Museum and participates in multiple fundraisers including Bike MS, a 30 mile cycling ride to help raise money and awareness for multiple sclerosis.
